Ask Joe: “Joe, why doesn’t our dealership send us to your classes or get JVTN®?”
You didn’t say whether you’d asked and they wouldn’t let you attend class or use Joe Verde Training Network®, so do this…
1. Stop here and go tell your dealer you want to go to class or use JVTN® to learn more so you can sell more. He or she may not know.
2. If you asked and they said ‘no’, your dealer may not believe you’re serious enough about learning more to make an investment in you.
3. Even if 1 & 2 are handled, your dealer may still only see the cost or your time away from the dealership and not the value in return. Remember that dealers, and everyone else in business, spend money (only) when they can (hopefully) see a return on their investment. That’s why they advertise to drive traffic and train the technicians, so they can do more work.
If they can’t see your potential or believe you’ll really dig in – you’re done. So you need to make sure your dealer sees a great return on training you.
Go for it – just convince your dealer you’re both missing sales now and that you’ll fix that by learning more.
Note: Once you convince them to train you, you’re on the hook and it’s your responsibility to step up, do what you said, and sell more.
