Down To The Wire…

I’ve written hundreds of blog posts and about 500 issues of my Sales newsletter, and never run out of new stuff we have to deal with.

So now it’s especially important to review those critical skills, work habits and processes that make or break your sales every day.

What we’re hearing from dealerships always depends on the store, the people, the training, and their processes. Your sales are based on S H A C: Selling skills, work habits, your attitude and choice of customers.

So how have you done so far this year in units, gross, and especially in your paycheck?

I write these a month ahead of time to get it to you on time. With everything going on there’s plenty of opportunity to improve.

“Opportunity” means more people will be on your lot, so assume everyone you talk to came to purchase, not just look.

Assume every call, every lead, and every walk-in is a buyer today, and follow my 8 steps.

Did You Have A Plan?

Did you have clear unit and income goals, and clear plans on how to hit them the first eight months? Or did you just wing it and hope for the best?

How many have you sold so far? How many do you want to sell the rest of this year? No highballs, just a realistic finish these last few months?

What skills helped you the most so far? Which of those skills can you improve to sell even more?

What weak skills have cost you sales so far? Will you ignore them, or improve them and sell more?

Let’s look at some of the key areas we’ve been talking about that everyone should be improving to sell more and earn more to turn 2026 into your best year ever.

TIP: Practice the ‘Gas Savings Close’ – In California, we’re paying $5.62 right now for Regular, Diesel is $6.71 – no matter where you live, this is an important skill to develop!
