Enthusiasm Sells!

Have you ever noticed how successful you are on those days you feel great? You know, those days when everything is going just right and everybody who walks on the lot that day is there to buy from you!

The product doesn’t sell itself. A presentation alone doesn’t sell the product and neither does advertising – and price sure doesn’t sell anything. Enthusiasm gets the credit because it charges the emotions positively. That’s why all those eager “new” salespeople who come along seem to get “nothing but lay downs” in the beginning. They’re pumped, they’re excited about their new job and it shows where it counts – in their conversations with their customers.

People buy people. Your prospects don’t just buy cars and they don’t buy price – they buy people – enthusiastic people. Why? Because enthusiastic salespeople are the ones who get customers excited about owning the product and that makes it easier for the prospect to buy.

Without enthusiasm and value first, you’ll only put a customer on the defensive hitting them with “power closes”. Worse, since most salespeople don’t know many real power closes, if you repeat, “Would you buy it, if…?”, “Would you buy it, if…?” a few times or bore them with a dull, ‘everything you know about the product’ presentation – you lose.

How can you get out of this trap? It’s time for you to get excited so you can make it happen in sales. The hardest part is jump-starting your excitement again. (That’s why you don’t want to lose it, the next time you get it.)
