Open For Business…

Of course you’re ready to get back to work, the real question is…


In my monthly newsletters, I’ve talked about how important it is to be prepared as states allow more people to get out of the house and back to work.

Everybody is taking a hit and nobody expects it to be ‘business as usual’ tomorrow – but there is business now, and there will be more and more customers on the lot soon.

We just got off of our daily conference call with our managers, and one of them had been to the dealership she bought her car from that had just opened their sales department again.

She was out on the lot looking at cars, when a salesperson walked by, barely even acknowledged her, and certainly didn’t offer to help.

Really? No traffic lately, and when someone shows, they ignored her?

Sure, he could have been with a customer inside and just needed info on a vehicle or ? … but to not take a minute to say, “Hi, welcome to the dealership, I’m Joe – and you are?”

(Betty.) “Nice to meet you, so who’s the lucky one, Betty – who’s the new car for, you or someone else?”

And then take it from there based on what they say in reply. But to ignore? That’s the guy who complains because there’s no traffic and does the ‘poor me’ at home and says he can’t do anything about it.

3 months ago, 8 out of 10 who walked on the lot were buyers – and it’s safe to say that when someone is there now – for sure they came to buy.

Buyers today are cautious about even being out, and it would be crazy to ignore or skip any steps with them, because you’ll either sell them or someone else will.

The important things you can do…
• Assume everyone came to buy.
• Don’t prequalify – just do your job and focus on those 8 Basic Steps.
• Get their info, contact everyone who didn’t buy and do it quick.
