Ready to Wrap this up?
“Are you ready to wrap it up and take this home with you?” NO!
When they say ‘no’, do you hand them your card & mumble ‘call me when you’re ready to buy something’?
Do you feel like a failure when people don’t say, “Sure, I’ll take it.” The only way to get past that is to learn more.
After a long flight, I felt dizzy getting up and down. So, I saw my ear doctor, and he said it was caused by little calcium stones that make you dizzy. I asked what I should do and he said, if you want it to go away sooner, just get up and down a lot.
If you want to sell more cars, you’re gonna eat a lot of ‘no’ and it’ll either make you sad, or you’ll learn to sell and keep closing until you get the ‘yes’.
Most salespeople hate to hear the word ‘no’, and there are books about how to handle the rejection in sales, when your customers tell you ‘no’.
‘No’ either means ‘I’m not buying’ or ‘I’m not buying yet’.
When you get a ‘no’, they’re saying…
“Based on the information you’ve given me so far, I can’t say ‘yes’ yet.
So, tell me more about why this is right for me, get me more excited, give me more reasons to say ‘yes’, and then ask me again later.”
It’s A Fact…
80% of all sales are made after the 5th time you’ve asked for the order and they’ve said ‘no’. You just have to learn more to sell more.
To top salespeople, ‘no’ is a nonevent. They understand a ‘no’ is one of the key steps along the way to getting that big ‘yes’ we’re all looking for.
It’s no, no, no, no, no, YES!
Tip: After a class, a salesperson told me he puts 6 pennies in his pocket and moves 1 to the other pocket each time he tries to close – and it works.
Learn more & you’ll earn more!
