“What are the tricks to selling more?”

Lots of people say they’re just shopping, and in real life, that’s true.

But based on buyer facts, they’re shopping all right, but not just for a car. 71% said they’re shopping mostly for a salesperson they feel comfortable with, just like you and I do, when we buy expensive things.

Have you ever gone out to buy something expensive that you needed, found a store that had it, but didn’t buy it because you didn’t like the salesperson?

I sure have & I’m betting you have, too.

Have you ever gone out to just ‘look’ at something expensive that you didn’t really need, ended up talking to a great salesperson who found out what was important and answered all your questions – and you bought something you didn’t mean to buy?

Again, I have & I’m betting you have, too.

One of the most important things you can do to reach every goal you have is to take what Zig Ziglar said to heart…

“You can have everything in life you want, if you’ll just
help enough other people get what they want.”

His quote made me realize that I would sell as many as I wanted to, if I would just become the salesperson who knows the product, honestly cares about helping customers find that perfect vehicle for them, and develops the skills to guide them through the buying process.

As the 8 car guy my first 5 years, instead of developing skills, we were always trying to find a trick or two to make another sale.

A few years later, I passed a gas station with the sign below that made me realize that I had focused on the wrong things…

You don’t need to learn any tricks
to the trade, just learn your trade.
